Introductions:
The girl you are going to marry. Would you like to marry such a girl if you were told that she suffers from epileptic seizures?
Marriage is a distant thing, perhaps you or the women of your house will start cursing the person who tells about such a relationship.
I myself am involved in it. And we should flatly refuse to have a relationship with such a girl. In such a thinking society, any male child can get any good relationship.
If he agrees to marry the girl without any greed or coercion, even after knowing her illness without seeing her, then at least one essay is made for her, in which her story is written and appreciated. We will get a detailed overview in, How to avoid epilepsy article.
True Story Of epilepsy patient:
A relationship comes for a friend of mine named Sajid. That the girl is MBBS. She is beautiful and elegant, but she has epilepsy.
Sajid’s mother starts cursing the matchmaker. That we are left with epilepsy. We have not gone that far.
Children will also have epileptic seizures. And time will make fun of us that they got such a daughter-in-law. And whatever came into their mouths, they continued to speak.
Sajid felt that his mother had spoken big words. If they do not repent, they may be caught. Explained to my mother that if our sister also had this problem, what would you do? He said, “Repent and seek forgiveness.
What are you talking about?”
Allah has saved us from such calamity, so be a child.
On the same night, Sajid’s mother had a stroke. And became mute forever. They began to think that perhaps they had been caught because of their arrogance. Always started crying and asking for forgiveness from Allah. But she did not agree to see the relationship for Sajid.
And many relationships were seen. But it didn’t happen. Two years passed like this. Mother was sick at home, so everyone’s focus remained here.
Many of the girls refused the relationship even after seeing the boy’s mother suffering from paralysis. That our daughter cannot handle a paralyzed mother-in-law.
Sajid asked the person who arranged the relationship that he had a relationship with a girl from Lahore? Who had the problem of epilepsy? Let’s first know a little about what epilepsy is. Then let’s move the story forward.
What is Epilepsy?
There is a universe within man. Rather, if it is said that man is a complete universe, then it will not be wrong.
The most complex “organ” in man is the mind. Thousands of activities are performed in the brain at a time.
Today we will talk about a disease related to brain. Which we call Epilepsy in Urdu and Epilepsy in English.
Epilepsy is actually the name of a brain “condition” in which too many neurons in one part of the brain fire too many neurotransmitters at a certain rate. We call this part of the brain as “Cerebral Cortex” in the language of science.
The cerebral cortex is a very sensitive part of our brain. which not only processes our memory, language, attention, learning processes, state of consciousness, and information received through the senses. Rather, it also controls our intentional “movements.” For this reason, doctors say that when there are too many activities in this part of the brain at the same time.
So sometimes all these “functions” affect each other. We call this condition of the mind in the language of “Medical Science” and “Epilepsy” in English.
As we know, that every “disease” has different causes behind it, so there are many causes behind epilepsy.
Examples include brain injury, brain tumors, effects of stroke and any infection. These things are beyond our control.
Doctors believe that these causes may be unknown/genetic and also congenital. Certain fragrances also trigger seizures. Or something done against the will of these people can also cause them to have an epileptic seizure. They can have this seizure even while sleeping.
A majority of children with cerebral palsy, known as Cerebral Palsy, also have epileptic seizures. The nature of which is different in every child and they are treated accordingly.
This disease usually appears in childhood from the age of five to the age of twenty. After that, the affected people are sixty-five years old and above. It can affect any person at any age.
It has countless levels and many types. But two types are very common. So, we talk about it.
Types
1. Generalized Seizure
A generalized seizure is an epileptic seizure. which starts simultaneously throughout the brain. And knock the patient unconscious. We call it a generalized seizure in the language of medical science, while our elders also call it a “grand epileptic” seizure. It affects both the right and left side of the brain. In this the patient may be partially or totally unconscious.
collapses and foams at the mouth and stiffens the whole body. Hands and feet begin to make involuntary movements. And the body thrashes like a fish out of water. The duration of this seizure can range from a few seconds to two minutes. If the patient continues to have a seizure for five minutes, call emergency services immediately for help.
Many patients around the world die due to not getting timely help.
2. What is a focal seizure?
Doctors say that a seizure that “starts” in a specific part of the brain, and stays there, is called a focal seizure. It is called “small chicken”.
A focal seizure is generally not more “dangerous” than a “focal” seizure because the “focal seizure” starts in a specific part of the brain.
Doctors say. that in a “focal seizure” consciousness remains somewhat intact. That is, the patient also communicates. But the thought wanders a little and the taste of the language changes. Which is not under our control.
Also note that mature focal seizures can have different forms. Consciousness is lost in it and the epileptic patient becomes mentally absent while sitting. He starts looking in the air. He becomes unaware of his surroundings.
According to a study, 44 people out of every 100,000 people worldwide have epilepsy. This rate is lower in women than in men.
In other words, 41 percent of women and 49 percent of men suffer from this disease.
Medical experts say that most of the epilepsy patients can get married. And can produce “babies” too. Just as in many other diseases people are able to have children normally, it is possible to have children with epilepsy.
If the mother has epilepsy and the father does not, the chance of the child being born with epilepsy is five in a hundred. is less than But if both parents of the child are suffering from epilepsy. So the chances of epilepsy in the child will be quite high.
Most children do not “inherit” epilepsy from their parents. But some types of “epilepsy” are also inherited. Epilepsy is not a “contagious” disease.
Although many of the underlying disease mechanisms themselves can lead to epilepsy. But in about 50% of cases worldwide, the cause of this disease is still unknown.
Which doctor does Jana go to? For children under the age of eighteen, there are child neurophysicians.
Professor Nazir Malik is a very good and competent child neurophysician in Lahore. If you search for EE Center Lahore, their clinic will appear in the map in Faisal Town, very close to Jinnah Hospital Lahore. There is also their contact number.
Although epilepsy has no apparent cause. But the brain reports in MRI and “ST Scan” or EEG appear to be completely correct. Yet this is a problem.
Some types of epilepsy are treatable with medication. While some require special diet and lifestyle. And some cases require surgery. Doctors believe that the first choice of treatment is drug therapy. Most people with epilepsy are relieved by medication.
The popular medicine for this is Epival 250 and 500 mg tablets. But if the first i.e. drug treatment is not effective, the doctor can change the drug, add another drug. Very expensive and rare. And yet it belongs to a few people out of millions.
In this, the disease is completely eradicated after regular and untimely use of the medicine for a few years. In some cases, medication may be required for life.
The girl with whom the story began suffers from a similar epilepsy. Sajid bypassed his mother and persuaded his family as much as possible to not see the relationship but to take the relationship.
Sajid had taken all the information on his own. After several months, the girl had a seizure. How could she become a doctor if this brain-affecting disease was so severe in her?
Married. On the day of the marriage, there was a seizure in the marriage hall due to the pressure of people.
All the relatives of her and the boy started talking about the necessity of getting married with such a disease. However, the marriage took place. There were many difficulties. She did not get pregnant for three years due to taking medicine.
Sajid gave a lot of support and love. It was not possible to stop the medication and the doctors said that there would be no pregnancy naturally. If you adopt IVF, you will get pregnant.
By Allah’s blessings became pregnant naturally. There was no seizure during pregnancy. And Allah gave him a very dear son. I know both houses with boys and girls.
Both are worthy of respect. The parents of the daughter not only taught her to live with this disease but also tried to marry her by giving her higher education. And the boys knowingly accepted the relationship and carried it out. Initial tests etc. of the child were done by Dr. Nazir Malik, which came out fine.
There is also a good Hindi movie Bawaal on this topic. Will definitely see. If you have an epileptic around you, how about loving him?
Keep an eye on them and make yourself available when they need you. When someone has this seizure, lay him on his side. Remove hard objects lying around it to avoid injury.
Let the foam come out of his mouth, but clean it so that he can breathe again. Do not water immediately. Let him lie there for some time to regain consciousness. Instead of sleeping such children on a bed, sleep them on a mattress on the floor.
Every year, thousands of children fall from the bed, their heads are cracked, bones are broken, they are injured. This precaution also applies to adults.
Note:
Never take the risk of riding a bike with an epileptic patient. It can be fatal.
